Image to PDF and PDF to image tools
Combine photos and scans into one PDF, or export each PDF page as an image. The work happens on your device, so private documents stay private.
Which PDF tool should you pick?
To make a PDF, match the tool to your source files. JPG to PDF and PNG to PDF take those formats, and HEIC to PDF and WebP to PDF handle iPhone and web images. Image to PDF accepts a mix of formats in one document, so it is the safest choice when your files differ.
You can add several images, put them in the order you want, and get a single multi-page PDF. Each image becomes one page.
To go the other way, PDF to JPG gives smaller files that suit sharing and email, while PDF to PNG keeps text and line art sharp. Multi-page results come back as a ZIP.
These tools do not edit text inside a PDF, and password-protected PDFs cannot be opened. If a PDF is locked, remove the password in the program that created it first.
JPG or PNG, and which DPI, for PDF pages
Pick the image format by what the page contains. JPG is smaller and suits pages with photos. PNG is lossless, keeps small text and thin lines crisp, and can leave the page background transparent, but the files are larger.
DPI sets how many pixels each page gets. A standard A4 page is about 1240 by 1754 pixels at 150 DPI and about 2480 by 3508 pixels at 300 DPI.
- 72 DPI: thumbnails and quick previews.
- 150 DPI: the default, sharp on screens and easy to share.
- 200 DPI: ordinary office printing.
- 300 DPI: print quality, or zooming into small text. File sizes grow quickly.
