Why convert HEIC to PDF?
A PDF opens the same way on every phone, tablet and computer. HEIC does not: many email clients, upload forms and older computers cannot show it. Putting photos into a PDF is the quickest way to send receipts, ID copies, signed pages or a set of pictures as one file that anyone can open.
This tool decodes each HEIC photo in your browser, then places it on its own PDF page. No server sees the pictures, which matters when they are documents.
Page size, margins and quality
Fit to image makes every page exactly as large as its photo, which suits pictures you only view on a screen. A4 and US Letter place each photo inside a standard sheet, centered and scaled to fit, which is better for printing or for forms that expect normal paper. Orientation is automatic: wide photos get landscape pages and tall photos get portrait pages.
Each photo is saved inside the PDF as a JPEG. High quality (the default) keeps photos sharp. Medium and Low make a smaller PDF when you need to stay under an email or upload size limit.
What to expect
Photos are upright in the PDF because the rotation stored in each HEIC file is applied. Location and camera details are not added to the PDF.
- The PDF file name is the photo name for a single photo, or images with today's date for several.
- Single photos above about 40 megapixels are refused with a message.
- Works in Safari, and in Chrome or Edge on devices that can decode HEVC video. Firefox cannot open HEIC.
- If one photo cannot be read, the others still go into the PDF and the problem is listed.
Questions
How do I convert HEIC to PDF for free?
Add your HEIC photos, choose a page size, press Create PDF and download the file. There is no sign-up, watermark or limit on how often you use it.
Can I put several HEIC photos in one PDF?
Yes. Each photo gets its own page. Put them in order with the arrow buttons, Reverse or Sort by name before you create the PDF.
Are my photos uploaded to a server?
No. Decoding and PDF creation both happen in your browser on your own device.
Will the PDF be large?
Roughly the size of the photos as JPG files. Choose Medium or Low image quality, or A4 with fewer photos, to make it smaller.
Why does it say my browser cannot open HEIC?
HEIC decoding needs Safari, or Chrome or Edge on a device that can decode HEVC video. Firefox does not support it. On an iPhone, Settings > Camera > Formats > Most Compatible saves new photos as JPG.
Can I convert HEIC to PDF on an iPhone?
Yes. Open this page in Safari on the iPhone, choose photos from your library, create the PDF and save it. No app is needed.
