Why convert a PNG to PDF?
PNG is the usual format for screenshots, diagrams, logos and exported designs because it keeps hard edges and text crisp. It is a poor fit for sharing a document: a stack of loose PNG files has no page order, prints at unpredictable sizes and is hard to attach to forms that ask for a PDF.
Converting PNG to PDF solves that. The pages keep their order, the file opens the same way everywhere and a single attachment replaces a folder of pictures. The conversion runs inside your browser tab, which is useful when the screenshots show bank pages, internal tools or personal messages.
What happens to transparent areas
Many PNG files have a transparent background, for example a logo exported without a backdrop. A PDF page is white, so the safest default is to fill transparent areas with white. That also lets the converter store the picture efficiently.
If the transparency matters, because the PDF will sit on a coloured background in a design tool, choose Keep transparent. PNG files that really contain see-through pixels are then stored losslessly with their alpha channel. PNG files that are fully opaque are stored as high quality JPEG unless you tick Keep exact pixels.
Screenshots and text stay readable
JPEG compression can blur small text. For screenshots of documents or code, tick Keep exact pixels. The PNG data is then stored without any loss, and the PDF stays sharp when you zoom in. The cost is a larger file, so leave it off for photos saved as PNG.
Fit to image sizes each page from the picture at 150 pixels per inch, so a 1500 pixel wide screenshot becomes a page about 10 inches wide with no empty margins.
- Up to 100 PNG files per PDF on a computer and 30 on a phone.
- Pick One PDF per image to get separate files in a ZIP.
- Large PNG files up to 40 megapixels are accepted.
Questions
How do I convert PNG to PDF?
Add your PNG file, choose a page size, press Create PDF and download the result. It takes a few seconds and needs no account.
Will my transparent PNG get a white background?
By default, yes. Switch Transparent areas to Keep transparent if you want the see-through parts to stay see-through in the PDF.
Can I combine several PNG files into one PDF?
Yes. Add them all, drag them into the order you want and create one PDF. Each PNG gets its own page.
Does the converter upload my screenshots?
No. Everything runs in your browser and nothing is sent to a server.
Why is my PDF bigger than the PNG files?
This happens when Keep exact pixels is on, because the full lossless data is stored. Turn it off for a smaller file, or run the compress image tool on the PNG files first.
Can I add JPG or WebP files here as well?
This page accepts PNG only. To mix formats in a single document, use the image to PDF tool linked below.
